There isn’t a single “correct” setting, but these baselines work well:

  • Landscapes: ISO 100–400, aperture f/5.6–f/11, shutter as needed; consider a tripod.
  • Portraits: ISO 100–800, aperture f/2–f/4 for subject isolation, shutter ≥ 1/200s; add fill if needed.
  • City/Street: Auto ISO capped at 1600–3200, aperture priority f/4–f/8, exposure compensation −0.3 to −1.
